Game Design
Game design is the art of applying design and aesthetics to create a game for entertainment or for educational, exercise, or experimental purposes. Increasingly, elements and principles of game design are also applied to other interactions, in the form of gamification. The Game Closet provides many free games that students and educators can utilize to enhance the classroom experience or to practice concepts at home in a fun, low-pressure way. The Game Closet is accessible through the online Resource Library for kindergarten, elementary, middle school, and high school teachers and students. Designing and develping 80+ games that spanned kindergarten though high school involved collaboration between multiple departments from initial concept to final product. This also included working with outside vendors to assist with the development and coding effort. I was involved in every step of the process.
